Etsy applies 9.5%+ in stacked fees, so the same product needs a higher list price to hit the same margin. Shopify charges less per transaction but adds a monthly plan cost.

Target margin guidance

Aim for 25–40% net margin after all fees. Below 20% leaves little room for ads or refunds. Use the break-even and 30% target columns in the calculator as your pricing floor and goal.
